Miss G's Bs 3. . . . . . . .

In order to welcome Gloria (SS) to the home of Miss G's Bs, Patsy spent some time telling her about when she first moved to New York City ages ago. .

"Oh, you wouldn't believe how much of a hick I was when I arrived!" chortled Patsy. "I practically had straw sticking out of my hair."
"Luckily, my dorm roommate took me under her wing and told me to go out and get a decent haircut. Before I left, she lent me her beret and said 'You're going to a very cool neighborhood, try at least to look slightly less Hee Haw.'
Cooper Square was the crossroads of the East Village. I wondered if I would see Joey Ramone or some other famous punk rocker! (well, Joey Ramone would have been the only famous punk rocker I would have recognized!)"
"I found the place, but I was pretty nervous. There were photos of people with mohawks in the window. . .would I walk out with any hair at all?"
"They must have been used to taming some pretty unruly locks, because after a cut and blow out, I was ready to pick up a vintage bowling shirt and some thigh high boots at the famous Trash & Vaudeville."
"As I walked along Saint Marks Place, I could tell that I had found my true home."
"Of course, you wouldn't understand Gloria. You must have arrived in the big city just as sleek and sophisticated as you are today."
"Why yes, " Gloria smiled to herself, "sleek and sophisticated. . ."
*singing* "We are stardust, we are golden, la la la" (more on Gloria to come!)
thanks as always to the Pirate for photo assistance in the bitter cold, & thanks to my B friends who provided wardrobe assistance!
