Parasite Pals for Valentines

The Blythes were excitedly getting ready for Valentine's Day. Coral braved a snowy day to get to the mailbox.

However, the night before Valentine's Day found the Bs mopey. The Pirate was in Paris and the Bs were feeling jealous and forlorn, especially as they have a very special Blythe friend in The City of Lights.
"Well, Mitten pup," said Gloria, "it's just you and me, kid."

Valentine's Day dawned ominously. By sunset, Gloria lay insensate on an empty box of candy. "*cough* I must say I feel a bug coming on. . ."

Portia tried to get dressed for evening in her new sweater by teacupfaery. "Oh my, I do feel faint," she breathed.

The next thing they knew, all the Bs were sick with one bug or another. Obilot said "Ah! J'ai mal a la tete!" (She was mistakenly under the impression that they were still going to go to Paris.)

Maru Deux had been all dressed up for Mardi Gras, when she was felled by a bug which attacked her throat.

By Shrove Tuesday, Zeema tried to eat her special pancakes, but a bug had settled into her tummy. She had the shivers all day.

"These bugs are what you would call real ankle-biters!" pouted Portia.

The Bs who weren't attacked by bugs rallied 'round. Gwenvyrdon and Patsy came in bearing numerous remedies and healthy foods.

A few moments were spent, however, modeling their new outfits, also knitted by teacupfaery.

After she'd heard Zeema muttering "Perhaps there could be less of the modeling and more of the bringing over of bread for tummy. . .*brrrrr!*" Corabelle ran over to share her new kitty hat and lay over her a lovely crocheted afghan. "Here my dear, this just arrived from Blythou. If you can't come to Paris, then Paris will come to you!
And, since you are now warm, please take a look at me in the jumper from the kitty set by Stitch Fairy, from Gina's store!"

And so, the Blythes rested and snuggled up in cozy handwovens. There will always be more holidays (and pancakes!) to come.
